Biography

Steven M. Jacobs is Division Staff Operations Manager at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Carson, California. Prior to this role, he was Director of Software Development at Beckman Coulter, developing computerized clinical systems. Prior to joining Beckman, Mr. Jacobs managed the Human Machine Interface (HMI) Systems Department at TRW in Redondo Beach, California. He managed a group of engineers developing user interface and web applications software for various government and commercial applications. Mr. Jacobs has over 26 years software development project experience. He is received his M.S.C.S. from UCLA, B.A. in Mathematics from Monmouth University (N.J.)

Steven M. Jacobs is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the USC Department of Computer Science. He has developed courses in user interface design for UCLA Extension and ACM. Mr. Jacobs has chaired two workshops and a panel session at ACM SIGCHI "CHI" conferences. He was a charter member of the Editorial Board of ACM Interactions magazine. He has authored over 20 publications on software engineering and user interface related topics.
