Strong mentoring relationships are essential for graduate student success, yet they can also come with challenges around expectations, communication, and professional boundaries. This interactive workshop will provide practical strategies to help graduate students build and maintain productive, respectful, and effective relationships with their mentors.
Participants will learn how to communicate clearly and proactively, set mutual expectations, navigate difficult conversations, and address common challenges that arise in mentoring dynamics. The session will also introduce campus resources available through the USC Office of the Ombuds.
This workshop is designed for all graduate students working under a mentor who are looking to strengthen collaboration, enhance their professional development, and foster a positive mentoring experience.
