USC Marshall Zage Business of Energy Initiative: The Zage Business of Energy Initiative is looking for a student currently pursuing their master’s degree in computer science to work on various projects related to energy.
Description of Initiative: This initiative seeks to advance solutions in global energy with a focus on business value creation through balancing energy security, safety, affordability, reliability, and cleanliness.
Job title: Research Assistant
Level of Education: currently holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and is actively pursuing a master’s degree in computer science
Nature of Job: Remote work on various projects under the direction of post-doctoral researchers.

Specific Skills: LLMs, text extraction from documents, dataset management, data extraction from websites, etc. The work varies based on the projects that the initiative is addressing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work with diverse teams are required. Experience in energy is preferred.

Hours of commitment per week: Between 10-20 hours depending on the projects
Compensation: $25/hour
