Hello,-
My name is Robbie Belson – a Developer Advocate at AWS specializing in generative AI – and I’m reaching out to invite your student body to participate in a generative AI hackathon, hosted by AWS, coming up this fall! Over a three-day period, we’ll bring together leading academic institutions, researchers, and industry practitioners to explore the ways that we can use agentic AI to make networks smarter and more efficient.
To date, we’ve received lots of questions from students (outside of the greater Dublin area) around whether virtual participation is possible and we’re eager to announce that virtual registration is now open! Dependent on registration volume, we will also consider instituting a cash prize for the virtual track as well.
Additional Information
No prior telecom experience is required! Students will have access to real network data, digital twin capabilities, and a variety of foundation models and generative AI tools including Amazon Bedrock. We’ll provide all the necessary resources and support to help you build your project over the course of the hackathon.

When: October 31st – November 2nd
Throughout the event, you’ll have a chance to meet executives from leading AI organizations, compete for cash prizes, and have ample time for collaboration between academia and industry through our planned social events over the course of the weekend.
