CMG Motorsport Technology Opportunities for Students
Dear Students,
Amanda Howard-Johnson, founder of Collegiate Motorsport Group (CMG), a student-focused organization creating more accessible pathways into motorsport through industry exposure, career development, campus programming, events, and hands-on experiences has reached out to share opportunities with USC CS students.
Modern motorsport has growing opportunities for students interested in software engineering, AI, data science, telemetry, simulation, embedded systems, gaming, cybersecurity, digital media, and technical operations. No motorcycle or racing experience is required.
This summer, CMG brought five UC Santa Cruz students to MotoAmerica at Laguna Seca, where they toured the paddock, met racing teams and industry professionals, and explored career opportunities. They’re now growing their Southern California student community, developing a beginner-friendly Moto Trainer motorcycle-racing simulator activation at a Southern California campus this fall, and planning a larger MotoAmerica student experience at Laguna Seca in 2027. Many opportunities are intended to be free or heavily discounted for students.
