The following announcement is from The Annenberg Media Digital Product Team. Please contact them directly if you have any questions.

Hello Viterbi Students!

We hope your semester is off to a great start. The Digital Product team at Annenberg Media is looking for volunteer contributors, and Fall is the perfect time to jump in. We build and improve www.uscannenbergmedia.com, the site behind USC’s student-led newsroom. Recent work includes shipping new features, redesigning landing pages, and building automations.

As part of the team, you will gain experience in one of the following:

  • UX Design: Conduct research and create design prototypes

  • Web Development: Implement designs and maintain the site from the frontend (knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React is helpful)

  • Project Management: Plan and oversee project timelines and execution

We have one weekly in-person meeting you’ll be asked to attend, on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Otherwise, work can be done asynchronously and remotely, or you can hang out in the Annenberg Media center.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the technical side of a newsroom and apply your skills in a real-world environment. Please note this is an unpaid role. We are open to all USC students, with or without experience.

If you are interested, please fill out this application form by Friday, September 18 at 11:59 PM:

To learn more about this team, a recording of our September 2 info session is available, and we will be holding a follow-up session on Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 PM on Zoom for anyone who missed it: https://usc.zoom.us/j/95277670703.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

The Annenberg Media Digital Product Team
