The following announcement is from Interaction Lab Please contact them directly if you have any questions.
My name is Misha Fu, and I am a student at the University of Southern California. I am conducting a research study on socially assistive robots (SARs) to evaluate their usability, effectiveness, and impact on user experience.
I am recruiting individuals who meet these criteria:
-
Currently enrolled as a college or university student (including USC undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students)
-
18 years or older
-
Fluent in English, as all interactions and surveys will be conducted in English
-
Have normal or corrected hearing to accurately perceive and respond to the robot’s speech
-
Available for a 40-minute in-person session on the USC campus
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to do the following activities:
-
Pre-study questionnaire assessing emotional well-being and gratitude levels (~5 minutes)
-
Interaction with a socially assistive robot (SAR) (~15 minutes)
-
Post-study questionnaire and a semi-structured interview to provide feedback (~20 minutes)
During these activities, you will be asked questions about:
-
Your experiences interacting with the SAR
-
Your perceptions of the SAR’s responses, engagement, and effectiveness
-
General feedback on how SARs could be improved for future interactions
Participants in this study will receive a $12 Amazon gift card via email after completing the study.
