The following announcement is from A.J. Mada (amada@usc.edu). Please contact them directly if you have any questions.
Dear Undergraduate Students,
I am conducting a research study for my dissertation to understand how the manosphere impacts masculinity performativity in college settings for young men.
I am recruiting individuals who meet these criteria:
- Full-Time undergraduate USC students who identify as male
-
At least 18 years old
If a student decides to participate in this study, they will be asked to do the following activities:
- Meet in an in-person forum on campus that will be comprised of up to 30 of their male peers
- Engage in a semi-structured discussion reflecting on questions and social media content that will be shown in the session
During these activities, you will be asked questions about:
- Their relationship with masculine online content and how that may or may not impact their masculinity performances in college
- Why they agree or disagree with specific social media content shown in the forum
- What can be done to support young men on college campuses
I will be providing free food and beverages as a small gesture of appreciation for their time.
Cheers,
A.J. Mada
