Blockchain technology is revolutionizing the way information is encoded, secured, and distributed. It is a technology that can improve the safety and security of existing processes in society and enable the development of systems that could not previously exist. Potential applications of blockchain are far-reaching, including how financial institutions exchange currency, how governments protect the integrity of electronic voting, and how medical providers secure health information systems.

This summer, the Computer Science Department at Boise State University will host its 5th Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site titled “Embracing Blockchain for a Secure and Trustworthy Tomorrow“. In addition to the financial support, participants of the program will receive impactful and effective learning and research experiences that focus on blockchain theory and technology. Participants will also be mentored in individual and collaborative learning and research environments to promote future study and career selection.
