The Math Peer Mentor supports undergraduate students enrolled in lower-division math courses, with a focus on first-generation college students. Peer mentors will help foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, help students navigate academic resources, engage in campus life, and support their personal and academic growth.
Math Peer Mentors can work up to 20 hours/week with a rate of $18.50.
Requirements for becoming a Math Peer Mentor
• Completion of MATH 125 or higher with an earned grade of B+ or higher.
• Must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 units for undergraduate students)
• A cumulative USC GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Be knowledgeable about campus resources
• Have a positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Commit to working for at least two semesters
