EIS 103 – Information Literacy – Navigating Digital Misinformation
We are offering two sections of the course this Fall 2025 semester! This is a special course that fulfills the GE-C (social analysis) requirement for Viterbi majors and minors. Taught by faculty from USC Viterbi and USC Libraries, this course teaches students important information literacy skills in order to use reliable sources in their academic and professional pursuits! Students also examine how to enhance the reliability of information on social media platforms through technological and design modifications. Using active learning pedagogy and fun class activities, instructors strive to spark critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative idea generation in each class meeting.
This course is limited to Viterbi majors and minors and requires d-clearance. D-clearance requests can be submitted here and any questions can be forwarded to Helen Choi at helenhch@usc.edu.
